Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a ‘I’ hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK
Double Crochet Stitch (DC):

Pattern:
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 8 + 3 or 6 + 3,
I made 153 chains for my example blanket
Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 3rd CH from your hook, 1 DC into each CH across
Row 2: CH 2, 3 FPDC, *4 BPDC, 4 FPDC, repeat from * until you have 1 ST left in this row, 1 DC into that last ST
Row 3: CH 2, Make 1 DC into each ST across
Row 4: CH 2, 3 BPDC, *4 FPDC, 4 BPDC, repeat from * until you have 1 ST left in this row, 1 DC into that last ST
Repeat Rows 2, 3 & 4 in order for however long you want your project
