Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a new free pattern from me! My Granny Square Hexagon is great for using up scarp yarn!
There are so many possible projects to make using hexagons! This motif would look beautiful seamed together for a blanket, sewn together for a purse and stitches together for a scarf!

Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example hexagon
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a I hook for my example hexagon – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Notes:

Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK

Slip Stitch (SL ST):

Double Crochet Stitch (DC):

Pattern:
Pick your favorite way to start a circle or square: Magic Circle/Ring/Loop, Chain 4 method, Slip Stitch method
Row 1: Make circle, work *2 DC into circle, CH 1, repeat this 4 times. You should have 6 sets of 2 DC + 1 CH around, SL ST into 1st DC made
Row 2: In open space made from previous CH 1, CH 3, *1 DC in same space, CH 1, 2 DC in space space, SK to next open space made from previous CH 1, 1 DC, repeat from * around until end of row, SL ST into first CH 3 made
Row 3: Start at open space made from previous CH 1, *2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC, SK to next open space, 2 DC, SK to next open space, repeat from * around until end of row, SL ST into first DC made
You would then repeat row 3 for any future rows made. You would make 2 DC in any open space between any 2 DC CH 1 2 DC clusters
