Photo Tutorial - How To Crochet: Alternative Magic Ring #1!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on a Alternative Magic Ring/Magic Circle/Magic Loop Method!

The Magic Loop/Magic Ring/Magic Circle is mainly used in crochet to start circles. It's very useful for hats, mandalas, etc.

First, with any project you’ll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this technique.

Start by making a Slip Knot (tutorial here!) on your hook, but leave a long tail

Bring that long tail up under the Slip Knot you just made, the end of the tail pointing towards the end of your hook

You would then hold that circle together (where the tail and Slip Knot meet) and work stitches into the center

This is what the your circle should look like when completed!
