Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on a Alternative Magic Ring/Magic Circle/Magic Loop Method!

The Magic Loop/Magic Ring/Magic Circle is mainly used in crochet to start circles. It's very useful for hats, mandalas, etc.

First, with any project you’ll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this technique.

Make a Slip Knot on your hook (tutorial here), while leaving a long tail

Then make 2 CHs on your hook

Insert your hook into the 1st CH you made or the farthest one from your hook

Take the long tail you left and wrap it around your hook (3 loops on your hook)

Yarn over your hook 1 time

Take that yarn through 2 loops on your hook

This is where you would work into the center making stitches (I used Single Crochet Stitches for my example circle, tutorial here!)

This is what the your circle should look like when completed!
