Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos for the Basic Filet Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 3 + 5
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 8th CH from your hook
Make 2 CHs, skip 2 CHs
Make 1 DC into the next CH
*Make 2 CHs, skip 2 CHs
Make 1 DC into the next CH
Repeat the step above from * for the rest of your row
Row 2: Make 5 CHs
Skip 1st ST, skip CH 2 open space, into the next previous DC make 1 DC
*Make 2 CHs, skip previous CH 2 space
Make 1 DC into next previous DC
Repeat the step above from * until you reach the last CHs of your row
Make 1 DC into the ending CHs from your last row
Repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project
This is what the Basic Filet Stitch should look like when completed!
