Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make stretchy Double Crochet Ribbing!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), I have a tutorial here! And how to work in the Back Loops, tutorial here!
Crochet ribbing is a great technique for if you need any stretchy area for a project. Example: hats, tops, bags, etc.
If you are starting from the beginning of a project, make CHs in any number. Then start making DCs in each CH of your first row, make 3 CH to start your 2nd row. Then you will start working in the Back Loops starting here and for any future rows. So then from there you work DC STs in the Back Loops for any row you make.
Start with a CH 3 (Shown Above)
1 DC in the Back Loop of the 1st ST
1 DC in the Back Loops of each ST across
This is what your Double Crochet Ribbing should look like when completed!
