Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Granny Chevron Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Granny Chevron Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 18

Row 1: Make 3 DC into the 5th CH from your hook

Skip 2 CHs, make 3 DC into the next CH

So that's 2 sets of 3 DC, for a side

Peak: Skip 2 CHs, make 3 DC into the next CH

Make 2 CHs

Make 3 DC into that same CH with the 3 DC you had just made

Skip 2 CHs, make 3 DC into the next CH X 2 for a side

Valley: Skip 5 CHs, make 3 DC into the next CH

Skip 2 CHs, make 3 DC into the next CH X 2 for a side

Peak: Skip 2 CHs, make 3 DC into the next CH

Skip 2 CHs, make 3 DC into the next CH X 2 for a side

Make 1 DC into the last CH of this row

Row 2: Make 4 CHs

Skip 3 STs, to the next open space

make 3 DC into that space

Skip 3 STs, to the next open space

make 3 DC into that space

Peak: Make 3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC into the peak open space

Skip 3 STs, to the next open space

make 3 DC into that space

X 2

Valley: Skip the Valley open space

Skip 3 STs, to the next open space

make 3 DC into that space

X 2

Peak: Make 3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC into the peak open space

Skip 3 STs, to the next open space

make 3 DC into that space

X 2

At the end of your row, skip 3 STs, make 1 DC into the previous 1 DC from the last row
