Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Picot Single Crochet Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Picot Single Crochet Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! And how to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains

 

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook

Make 1 SC into each CH across

Row 2: Make 1 CH

Make 1 SC into the 1st ST

We're going to make our 1st Picot Single Crochet Stitch:

Inset your hook into the next ST, pull up a loop

Make 1 CH

Make 1 CH

Make 1 CH

So that's 3 CHs made total

Yarn over your hook one time

Take that yarn through all loops on your hook to complete this stitch

*Make 1 SC into the next ST

Repeat those steps above for another Picot Single Crochet in the next ST

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of your row

Row 3: Make 1 CH

Make 1 SC into each of the 1st 2 STs

Make 1 Picot Single Crochet into the next ST

Make 1 SC into the next ST

*Make 1 Picot Single Crochet into the next ST

Make 1 SC into the next ST

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of your row

Make 1 SC into each of the last 2 STs in this row

Alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
