Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Cluster Lace Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And be familiar with the Cluster Stitch (CL), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 4 + 2
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook
Make 2 CHs
*First 2 DC Cluster: Yarn over your hook 1 time
Skip 1 CH, into the next one insert your hook, grab the yarn you're working with and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Take that yarn through 2 loops only, making the bottom of 1 DC
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Insert your hook back into that same CH, grab the yarn you're working with and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop
Yarn over your hook 1 time
Take that yarn through 2 loops only, making the bottom of 1 DC
Now we have the bottoms of 2 DC, so we will complete our Cluster
Yarn over 1 time
Bring that yarn through all 3 loops on your hook, clustering together those DC bottoms
*Make 2 CHs
Skip 1 CH, 1 SC into the next CH
Skip 1 CH, repeat the steps above to make another 2 DC Cluster, then repeat the steps above from * until you reach the end of your row
This is what row 1 should look like
Row 2: Make 5 CHs
Skip to the top of the next 2 DC cluster, make 1 SC
*Make 5 CHs
Skip to the top of the next 2 DC cluster, make 1 SC
Repeat the steps above until you reach the end of your row
Make 2 CHs
Make 1 DC into the last ST of your row
This is what row 2 should look like
Row 3: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the 1st St of your row
Make 2 CHs
*Skip the open space made from previous CHs, make a 2 DC Cluster in the next previous SC
Make 2 CHs
Make 1 SC into the next open space from the previous CH 5
Make 2 CHs
Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the end of your row
This is what row 3 should look like
You would now alternate between rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
This is what the Cluster Lace Stitch should look like when completed!
