Photo Tutorial - How To Crochet: The Divine Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Slip Stitch (SL ST), tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains

Row 1: Make 1 HDC into the 2nd CH from your hook

Make 1 SL ST into the next CH

*Make 1 HDC into the next CH

Make 1 SL ST into the next CH

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of Row 1

Row 2: Make 1 CH

Make 1 SL ST into the 1st ST

Make 1 HDC into the next ST

Make 1 SL ST into the next ST

*Make 1 HDC into the next ST

Make 1 SL ST into the next ST

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of Row 2

Row 3: Make 1 CH

Make 1 SC + 1 HDC into the 1st ST

Skip 1 ST, SC + HDC into the next ST

*Skip 1 ST, SC + HDC into the next ST

Repeat the step above from * for the rest of Row 3

Row 4: Make 1 CH

Make 1 SC + 1 HDC into the 1st ST

Skip 1 ST, SC + HDC into the next ST

*Skip 1 ST, SC + HDC into the next ST

Repeat the step above from * for the rest of Row 4

Row 5: Make 1 CH

Make 1 HDC into the 1st ST

Make 1 SL ST into the next ST

*Make 1 HDC into the next ST

Make 1 SL ST into the next ST

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of Row 5

Row 6: Make 1 CH

Make 1 SL ST into the 1st ST

Make 1 HDC into the next ST

*Make 1 SL ST into the next ST

Make 1 HDC into the next ST

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of Row 6

Repeat rows 3, 4, 5 & 6 in order for however long you want your project

This is what the Divine Stitch looks like when completed!
