First, with any project you’ll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you’ll need to know how to make Chains (CH)! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to work in the Back Loops, tutorial here!
Starting at the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 6 + 3
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: 1 DC into 4th CH from your hook
Make 1 DC into each CH across
Row 2: Make 3 CHs
1 DC into 1st ST
Skip 3 STs, make 1 HDC into the next ST
*Make 1 HDC over the body of the HDC you just made
Make 1 HDC over the body of the original HDC, so you'll have 2 wrapped around the original HDC in the ST
Make 1 HDC over the body of the original HDC, so you'll have 3 wrapped around the original HDC in the ST
Skip 3 STs, make 1 HDC into the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you have 4 STs left of your row
Skip 3 STs, 1 DC into the last ST of your row
Make 1 DC into the top of previous turning CHs from your last row
Row 3: Make 3 CHs
Into the Back Loop: Make 1 DC into the 1st ST
Make 1 DC into the same ST, also in the Back Loop
Working into the Back Loops, make 1 DC into each ST. Including the turning CHs at the end of your row
Alternate between rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
This is what the HDC Wrap Stitch should look like when completed!
