Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Iris Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 4 + 1
For your first row: 1 DC into the 5th CH from your hook, CH 1, 2 DC into same CH as 1st DC made, *skip 3 CHs, work 1 Iris ST in the next CH, repeat from * until the end of your row
Row 2/the row you will repeat: CH 3
1 DC into first open space
1 DC into same space
CH 1
1 DC into same space
1 DC into same space
All together: 2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC aka the Iris ST
Repeat these steps until you reach the end of your row
In the last ST of your row work 1 DC, this will match the CH 3 made at the beginning of your row
You will repeat this row for however long you want your project
This is what the Iris Stitch should look like when completed!
