Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Mock Popcorn Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), tutorial here! And how to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), I have a tutorial here!
The Mock Popcorn Stitch is made up of 2 rows
For the first row you'll start by making single crochet stitches. For my example swatch above I made 3 SCs then started my first Mock Popcorn. So to start that Mock popcorn you would make 1 SC in the next ST, then make 4 CHS (Shown Above)
You would then make 1 SC in the next ST. So for my swatch I made 3 SC, then 1 SC + CH 4, 1 SC for the Mock Popcorn. Then repeated this for my swatch above until the end of my row.
Make 1 CH then turn your row. This row you will simply make 1 SC in each ST across. It will look weird with the previous CH 4. But when you work 1 SC in each previous SC it will force those CH 4 together to make the Mock Popcorn.
This is what the Mock Popcorn Stitch should look like when completed!
