Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Piggyback Stitch!
First, with any project you’ll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you’ll need to know how to make Chains (CH)! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!
Starting at the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 3 + 2

Row 1: Make 1 CH
(If you're working into CHs, skip this step)
Make 1 SC into 1st ST
(If you're working into CHs, make this SC into the 2nd CH from your hook)
Make 2 CHs
Skip 2 STs, make 1 SC into the next ST/CH
Make 2 CHs
*Skip 2 STs, make 1 SC into the next ST/CH
Repeat the step above from * for the rest of your row
Row 2: Make 3 CHs
Make 1 DC into 1st ST
Skip previous CH 2 space, make 3 DC into next ST (previous SC)
*Skip previous CH 2 space, make 3 DC into next ST (previous SC)
Repeat the step above from * until you reach the last previous CH 2 space
Skip previous CH 2 space, make 2 DC into last ST of row
Alternate between rows 1 & 2 for however long you want your project
This is what the Piggyback Stitch should look like when completed!
