Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Single Crochet Spike Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
Tutorial for a regular Single Crochet Stitch here! You'll also need to know how to make chains, tutorial here!
You'll start by inserting your hook under the next stitch you would normally work into. You'll be working into a row underneath the current row you are working. In the picture above I am inserting my hook into the last row I had made, into the stitch right underneath the one I would normally work into next.
Grab the yarn you're working with through that ST where you inserted your hook and pull it through that ST. Pull the yarn all the way up to the top of your work. (Show Above)
This is where you would work the stitch like a regular Single Crochet Stitch. Yarn over your hook and pull through both loops on your hook. (Shown Above and Below)
This is another example of where you could insert your hook for how long you would want your Single Crochet Spike Stitch. I inserted my hook 3 rows down below the next ST I would normally work into to continue.
This picture shows that I grabbed the yarn I'm working with behind my work, pulled it through that ST all the way up to the top of my work and yarned over my hook.
This is what the Single Crochet Spike Stitch should look like when completed!
