First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here!
To start from the beginning: Make CHs in multiples of 3 + 2
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: 1 HDC into 2nd CH from hook, *skip 2 CHs, 1 Sprig ST into next CH, repeat from *
To start your Sprig row: CH 1
1 HDC into 1st ST
To start your 1st Sprig ST: 1 SC into next ST
Make 1 SC in same ST with that 1st SC
Make 2 CHs
1 SC into same ST/space
1 SC into same ST/space
That's the Sprig Stitch! 2 SC, CH 2, 2 SC all in the same ST/space
Keep making the Sprig ST until you reach the end of your row
Make 1 HDC into the last ST of your row
This is what your Sprig Stitch should look like when completed!
