First, with any project you’ll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you’ll need to know how to make Chains (CH), tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning make chains in the multiple of 3 + 2
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 2 HDC into the 2nd CH from your hook
Skip 1 CH, then make 1 SC into the next CH
Make 2 HDC into the next CH
*Skip 1 CH, SC into the next, then 2 HDC into the next
Repeat the step above from * until you reach the end of your row
Row 2: Make 1 CH
Make 2 HDC into the 1st ST
Skip 1 ST, then make 1 SC into the next ST
Make 2 HDC into the next ST
Skip 1 ST, then make 1 SC into the next ST, then make 2 HDC into the next ST
Repeat the step above from * until you reach the end of your row
You would now repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project
