Easy and works up quickly!
Only basic crochet stitches over and over!

Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/Aran weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a I hook for my example blanket – 5.0 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Stitch – ST
Chain – CH
Skip – SK
Single Crochet Stitch (SC):

Pattern:
Make as many chains as you desire for the width of your blanket
In each row you will pick a stitch (SC, HDC or DC) then make 1 of that stitch you chose in each CH across for the first row. In the next row you can do that same stitch or pick another and make that row with the new stitch, but for Row 2 and beyond you will only work in the Back Loops of each stitch. Basically, this is a very random pattern. I used a mix of SC rows, HDC rows and DC rows to make the one above.
When you reach your desired length, then fasten off your work and weave in any stray strands of yarn.
