Photo Tutorial – Crochet Pattern: Halo Blaze Afghan!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make my Halo Blaze Afghan!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this blanket

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And be familiar with the Sunflare Stitch, tutorial here!

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains. I made 152 CHs for my example blanket

Row 1: Make 1 HDC into the 3rd CH from your hook

Then make 1 DC into that same CH with that HDC you just made

*Skip 1 CH, make 1 HDC + 1 DC into the next CH

Repeat the step above from * until you only have 3 CHs left

Skip 1 CH, make 1 HDC into the next CH

Then make 1 DC into the last CH to complete this row

Row 2: Make 2 CHs

Make 1 DC into the 1st ST

*Skip 1 ST, make 1 HDC + 1 DC into the next ST

Repeat the step above from * until you only have 3 STs left

Skip 1 ST, make 1 HDC into the next ST, then make 1 DC into that last ST to complete this row

You would now Repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project

This is what how my Halo Blaze Afghan should look like when completed!
