Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make my Kitty Cat Afghan!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this blanket pattern

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Spike Stitch (DC SP), tutorial here

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Staring from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 5, I made 155 CHs for my example blanket

Start with Color A

Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 4th CH from your hook

*Skip 3 CHs, make (2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into the next CH

Repeat the step above from * until you only have 2 CHs left

Skip 1 CH, make 1 DC into the last CH to complete this row

Continue with Color A

Row 2: Make 3 CHs

Make 1 DC into the 1st ST

*Skip to the next previous CH 1 space

Make ( 2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into that CH space

Repeat the step above from * until you only have 1 ST + some CHs left

Make 1 DC into the last ST, then make 1 DC into the top of the last CHs to complete this row

Switch to Color B

Row 3: Make 3 CHs

Make 1 DC into the 1st ST

*Make 2 DC SP STs into the CH space 2 rows down

Skip to the next previous CH 1 space,

Make (2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into that CH space

Repeat the steps above from * until you only have some CHs left

Make 2 DC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row

Continue with Color B

Row 4: Make 3 CHs

Make 1 DC into the 1st ST

*Skip to the next previous CH 1 space,

Make (2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into that CH space

Repeat the step above from * until you only have 1 ST + some CHs left

Make 1 DC into the last step, then make 1 DC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row

Continue with Color B

Row 5: Make 3 CHs, make 1 DC into the 1st ST

Same as Row 4,

*Skip to the next previous CH 1 space

Make ( 2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into that CH space

repeat this step from * until you only have 1 ST + some CHs left

Make 1 DC into the last ST, then make 1 DC into the top of the last CHs to complete this row

You would now repeat Rows 3, 4 & 5 for however long you want your project

You would change colors every 3 rows

This is what my Kitty Cat Afghan should look like when completed!
