Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Sunspot Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 SC + 1 HDC into the 3rd CH from your hook
*Skip 1 CH, 1 SC + 1 HDC into the next CH
Repeat the step above until you have 2 CH left
Make 1 SC into that last CH to complete
Row 2: Make 1 CH
1 HDC into the 1st ST
*Skip 1 ST, 1 SC + 1 HDC into the next ST
Repeat the step above until you have 2 STs left
Skip 1 ST, make 1 SC into the last ST
You would now repeat between Row 2 for however long you want your project
This is what the Sunspot Stitch should look like when completed!
