Free Crochet Pattern: Spiked Granny Blanket!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a wonderfully textured crochet blanket pattern from me: Spiked Granny Crochet Blanket! This throw is absolutely stunning in any color scheme and works up quickly!

No gaps or holes in this blanket and can be made in any size! This crochet stitch is a variation of the beloved granny stitch; so it's easy to learn!

Here is the free pattern/tutorial:

 

Materials:

Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket

Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a ‘I’ hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM

Scissors

Stitch Markers

 

Notes:

CHs of 3 count as DC stitches

 

Crochet Stitches Needed:

Stitch – ST

Chain – CH

Skip Chs/STs - SK

 

Slip Stitch (SL ST):

Double Crochet Stitch (DC):

Granny Spike Stitch (GSS):

Small Shell Stitch (SM SHELL): 1 SC, CH, 1 SC all in same ST

 

Pattern:

Make chains in the multiple of 3, I made 184 CHs for my example blanket

Row 1: 2 DC in 3^rd CH from hook, *CH 1, SK 2 CHs, 3 DC into next CH, repeat from * until the end of the row

Row 2: CH 4, 1 GSS in first open space, *CH 1, 1 GSS in next open space, repeat from * until last open space of row, CH 1, SK 1 ST, 1 DC in last ST of row

Row 3: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC), 1 spiked DC into top of previous DC made in row (middle of GSS), 1 DC in same open stitch (1 GSS made), *CH 1, 1 GSS in next open space, repeat from * until end of row

Alternate between rows 2 and 3 to reach desired length
