I will now go over the 4 most basic crochet stitches:
The Single Crochet Stitch
The Half Double Crochet Stitch
The Double Crochet Stitch
and The Triple Crochet Stitch

We're starting with the Single Crochet Stitch (SC)
Make 1 CH to start your row, This 1 CH is the same height as the SC

*To start our SC: Insert your hook into the next Stitch, grab that yarn you're working with and pull it through that Stitch, pulling up 1 loop on your hook
You'll have 2 loops on your hook now

Yarn over your hook 1 time

Take that yarn through both loops on your hook
to complete that Single Crochet Stitch

You'll now repeat the steps above from * for the rest of your row

And that's how the Single Crochet Stitch is looking
I have a individual tutorial for this stitch here!

Next we are making the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC)
Make 2 CHs to start your row, These 2 CHs are the same height as the HDC

*To start our HDC: Yarn over your hook 1 time
