Photo Tutorial: Crochet Beginner Guide - How To Count Chains & Stitches!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is my photo guide on how to count crochet chains and stitches!

If you need a tutorial on how to make Chains I have one here! Starting with counting Chains!

When counting chains you will count both the front loop and back loop as a full chain. In the picture above I have circled one full chain made.

So if we take the first picture and look at this one with the numbers, we can count out 15 full chains made from the 1st CH to the last one near the hook.

Now onto how to count stitches...here is some anatomy of a stitch! I have shown the top, bottom and post of one full stitch.

So then here since we know what one full stitch looks like we can count out 14 stitches on the last row made.
