Photo Tutorial – Crochet Pattern: Vintage Vibes Square!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on my free crochet pattern: Vintage Vibes Square!

First, with any project you’ll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning how to make this square.

For this pattern you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make a Slip Stitch (SL ST), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), I have a tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet V Stitch (DC V), tutorial here!

There are several ways to start this motif. You can use the Magic Ring/Circle/Loop, I have a tutorial here! The Chain 4 method, I have a tutorial here! Or the Slip Stitch Method, I have a tutorial here!

I will be using the Chain 4 Method for my tutorial

Make 5 chains

Make 1 DC into the CH farthest from your hook

Make 2 CHs

Make 1 DC V (1 DC, CH 1, 1 DC) into same CH

Make 2 CHs

Make 3 more DC Vs with CHs 2 between them for a square, SL ST into the first CHs made in your row to complete

Make 4 CHs

1 DC into the space of the next previous DC V

1 DC V into the corner space

Make 2 CHs

1 DC V in same corner space

So in the corner space you have: 1 DC V, CH 2, 1 CD V

So in each previous DC V between the corner spaces make 1 DC V, in each corner space repeat the above steps, SL ST into the first CHs made in your row to complete

Make 4 CHs

1 DC into the space of the next previous DC V

1 DC V in next open space from previous DC V ST

1 DC V into the corner space

Make 2 CHS

1 DC V in same corner space

So in the corner space you have: 1 DC V, CH 2, 1 CD V

So in each previous DC V between the corner spaces make 1 DC V, in each corner space repeat the above steps, SL ST into the first CHs made in your row to complete

You would repeat this row if you want to make a bigger square
