Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Foundation Single Crochet Stitch!
This stitch/technique combines the separate rows of making chains and the first row of single crochet stitches.
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
To make this stitch you'll need to know how to make chains (tutorial here!) and how to make the Single Crochet Stitch (tutorial here!)
You'll start by making 2 CHs on your hook
You'll then insert your hook into the 1st CH you made. You'll insert it under the 2 top loops of that 1st CH. (Shown Above)
Grab that yarn through the loop and pull it through, you should have 2 loops on your hook. (Shown Above)
You'll then yarn over your hook and take it through both loops on your hook to make 1 Foundation Single Crochet Stitch.
*For your next Foundation Single Crochet Stitch you'll be working into the stitch you just made.
As you can see from the picture above, you work into the stitch you just made. Making sure to work under those 2 loops of that ST again, just like when we worked into the first CH.
You'll grab the yarn you're working with and pull it through that stitch, you should have 2 loops on your hook.
You'll then yarn over your hook and pull that yarn through both loops on your hook completing your second Foundation Single Crochet Stitch.
You would repeat these steps from the * in my tutorial for any future Foundation Single Crochet Stitches.
This is what the Foundation Single Crochet Stitch should look like when completed! You can see how the bottom looks like regular Chains and the top look like Single Crochet Stitches.
