Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Front Post Single Crochet Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! And how to make Single Crochet Stitches (SC), I have a tutorial here!
To begin, you would normally work into the top of the next stitch. But with this Front Post Stitch you will insert your hook behind the post of the next stitch. It should poke out around the other side. (Shown Above)
You'll then yarn over your hook and pull that yarn behind the stitch shown.
At this point you would finish the stitch like a regular Single Crochet Stitch. Yarn over your hook and pull that yarn through both loops on your hook.
For my example swatch I made regular Single Crochet Stitches between Front Post ones to show the texture.
This is what the back of the Front Post Single Crochet Stitches would look like. It creates a ridge and adds texture to any project!
This is what the Front Post Single Crochet Stitch should look like when completed!
