Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Modified Sedge Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!
Also, the tutorial for the regular Sedge Stitch too, here!
To begin, make chain in multiples of 2
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 CH
(Skip this step if you're working into chains)
Skip 1st ST, 1 SC + 1 DC into next ST
(If you're working into chains, Make 1 SC + 1 DC into 2nd CH from your hook)
*Skip 1 ST/CH, 1 SC + 1 DC into next ST
Repeat the step above from * until you have 2 STs left in your row
Skip 1 ST, 1 SC into the next ST
1 DC into the top of previous turning CHs
(If you're working into CHs, make this last DC into the last CH of your row)
Repeat row 1 for however long you want your project
This is what the Modified Sedge Stitch should look like when completed!
