Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Single Crochet Thermal Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to work in the Back Loops, tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make any number of chains
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Row 1: Insert your hook into the 2nd CH from your hook, make sure you have 2 loops on top of your hook from the CH

Grab the yarn you're working with and pull it through the CH

This is where you would complete a SC like normal
Yarn over your hook 1 time

Take that yarn through both loops on your hook

Repeat the steps for row 1 above for the rest of your CHs

Row 2: Make 1 CH

Turn your work but look at it vertically

Insert your hook into the Back Loop of the 1st ST

Insert your hook into the bottom loop of the previous CH row

Yarn over your hook 1 time

Pull that yarn through both of those loops

This is where you would complete a SC like normal
Yarn over your hook 1 time

Take that yarn through both loops on your hook

Repeat the steps for row 2 above for the rest of your STs
Repeat row 2 for however long you want your project

Row 3 (Finishing row): Make 1 CH, turn your work

Insert your hook into the next ST

Insert your hook into the loop on the ledge behind your row
(As you make row 2 that loop in the original chains will make a ledge that moves up as you make this ST. This finishing row will make that ledge disappear so your work will be flat all around)

Yarn over your hook 1 time

Bring that yarn through the ledge loop and that ST

This is where you would complete a SC like normal
Yarn over your hook 1 time

Take that yarn through both loops on your hook
Repeat these steps for row 3 to finish your Single Crochet Thermal ST

This is what the Single Crochet Thermal Stitch should look like when completed!
