First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), tutorial here! How to make the Slip Stitch (SL ST), I have a tutorial here! And how to work in the Back Loops, tutorial here!
Crochet ribbing is a great technique for if you need any stretchy area for a project. Example: hats, tops, bags, etc.

To start from the beginning: Make CHs 1 any number, work 1 SL ST into each CH across for your 1st row
Start the row you will repeat: Make 1 CH
Work 1 SL ST into each ST across while working in the Back Loops only
This is what your Slip Stitch Ribbing should look like when completed!
