Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: The Bramble Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Bramble Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning make an even number of CHs

 

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook

Then make 1 SC into each CH across

Row 2: Make 2 CHs

Skip 1st ST, under the next ST, make 2 HDC into the previous CH space

*Skip 1 ST, under the next ST, make 2 HDC into the previous CH space

Repeat the step above from * until you have 1 ST left in your row

Make 1 HDC into the last ST of your row

Row 3: Make 2 CHs

Into the 1st skipped ST, work 2 HDC into that ST

Skip 2 STs, into the next Skipped ST, work 2 HDC into that ST

*Skip 2 STs, into the next Skipped ST, work 2 HDC into that ST

Repeat the step above from * until you have 2 STs left + turning CHs from your last row

Skip 2 STs, make 1 SC into the tops of those previous turning CHs

Repeat Row 3 for how long you want your project

This is what the Bramble Stitch should look like when completed!
