Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: The Celestial Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Celestial Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC) tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning make CHs in the multiple of 3 + 1

 

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook

Then make 1 SC into each CH across

Row 2: CH 2

We're going to make our 1st Celestial ST: Yarn over 1 time

Insert your hook into the 1st ST, grab that yarn you're working with and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook

You'll have 3 loops on your hook

Yarn over your hook 1 time

Take that yarn through 2 loops only

You'll have 2 loops on your hook

Insert your hook into to the next ST and pull up 1 loop

Yarn over your hook 1 time

Insert your hook back into the same ST, grab that yarn you're working with and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook

You'll have 5 loops on your hook

Yarn over your hook 1 time

Take that yarn through all 5 loops on your hook

1 Celestial ST made

Make 1 CH to secure it all together

*To start our next one: Yarn over 1 time

Insert your hook into the same ST of the Celestial ST you just made, grab that yarn you're working with and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook

You'll have 3 loops on your hook

Yarn over your hook 1 time

Take that yarn through 2 loops

You'll have 2 loops on your hook

Yarn over your hook 1 time, Insert your hook into the next ST, grab that yarn you're working with and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop on your hook

You'll have 5 loops on your hook

Yarn over your hook 1 time

1 Celestial ST made

Make 1 CH to secure it all together

Repeat the steps above from * for the rest of your row

Repeat Row 2 for however long you want your project

This is what the Celestial Stitch should look like when completed!
