Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: The Crab Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Crab Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! And how to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here!

This stitch is also known as the Reverse Single Crochet Stitch, tutorial here!

My example swatch in made from regular Single Crochet Stitches, so you can make this stitch with any number of chains to start

 

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Since this stitch it worked in reverse, we will be starting at the end of whichever row you made last

You will not be making a turning CH for this row

You'll make 1 regular SC into the 1st ST from your last row, working this SC backward

Same thing as above, keep working SC stitches backwards

This is how your stitches will look, twisted and ridged

This is what how the Crab Stitch should look like when completed!
