Photo Tutorial - How To Crochet: Cross Hatch Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Cross Hatch Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make CHs in the multiple of 4

 

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 5th CH from your hook

Skip 3 CHs, make 1 SC into the next CH

Make 3 CHs

Make 3 DC into that same CH with the SC you made

*Skip 3 CHs, make 1 SC into the next CH

Make 3 CHs

Make 3 DC into that same CH with the SC you made

Repeat the steps above from * until you have 3 CHs left in your row

Skip 2 CHs, make 1 SC into the last CH of your row

Row 2: Make 4 CHs

Make 3 DC into the first CH out of the 4 you just made to start your row

*Skip the 3 previous DC from row 1, make 1 SC into the previous CH 3 from row 1

We're now going to start the sequence from our last row, make 3 CHs

Make 3 DC into the same previous CH 3 space that you made the SC in

Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the last previous CH 3 space

Make 1 SC into that last previous CH 3 space

Repeat row 2 for however long you want your project

This is what the Cross Hatch Stitch should look like when completed!
