Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Crochet Larksfoot Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here!

Chain in multiples of 4 + 1

I made 21 for my swatch

The first 2 rows of the Larksfoot stitch are foundation rows. You start making the actual Larksfoot stitch on your 3rd row.

Also the Larksfoot stitch is one row that goes into a previous made and one foundation on top of it for future rows. It's all about set up. It will make sense once I lay everything out. 💖

Make 1 DC into the 4th CH from your hook. The 1st 3 CHs will count as 1 DC

Work 1 DC into the next CH, (3 DC total so far)

*CH 1, Skip 1 CH

Work 1 DC into the next 3 CHs

Repeat from * until you reach the end of the row

Completed row shown below

Turn your work and CH 3, CH 3 counts as 1 DC

Skip 1st ST connected to CH 3 just made, 1 DC into the 2nd ST

1 DC into the next ST

*CH 1, skip open space, 1 DC into the next 3 STs

Repeat from * until you reach the end of the row

Completed row shown below

Attach new color, turn work, CH 4

Skip 2 STs, 1 DC into 3rd ST (Shown Above)

*1 DC down into open space of 1st row (Shown Above)

1 DC into next ST (Shown Above)

CH 1, Skip 1 ST, 1 DC into the next ST

Repeat from * until you reach the end of the row

At the end of the row we have a open space, make 1 CH

Make 1 DC into the open space

So this was out 'Larksfoot row'. The next will be a foundation, similar to the first 2 rows made

Turn work, CH 4

Skip open space, *make 1 DC into the next 3 STs

CH 1, Skip open space

Repeat from * until you reach the end of the row

At the end of the row we have a open space, make 1 CH

Make 1 DC into the open space

You will repeat rows 3 and 4 until you reach your desired length

This is what the Larksfoot Stitch should look like when completed!
