First, with any project you’ll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you’ll need to know how to make Chains (CH), tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And be familiar with the Regular Bobble Stitch, tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make an even number of CHs
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: 1 SC into 2nd CH from your hook
Then make 1 SC into each CH across for row 1
Row 2: Make 1 CH
1 SC into 1st ST
Starting our 1st Mini Bobble: Yarn over 1 time
Insert your hook into the next ST, grab that yarn you're working with and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop
Yarn over 1 time
Take that yarn through 2 loops (2 loops left)
Yarn over 1 time
Insert your hook back into that same ST, grab that yarn you're working with and pull it through, pulling up 1 loop
Yarn over 1 time
Take that yarn through 2 loops (3 loops left)
Yarn over 1 time
Take that yarn through all 3 loops on your hook
That's 1 Mini Bobble Stitch made
Make 1 SC into the next ST
Repeat the Mini Bobble steps above to make 1 in the next ST
Make 1 SC into the next ST
Alternate between Mini Bobbles and SC for the rest of row 2
Row 3: Make 1 CH
1 SC into 1st ST
Then make 1 SC into each ST across for row 3
You would now alternate between rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
This is what the Mini Bobble Stitch should look like when completed!
