For this stitch you'll already need to know how to make the Single Crochet Stitch and how to make Chains. I have a tutorial for both of these techniques here & here! First, with any project you’ll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.

If you are starting this stitch from the beginning with no previous Moss Stitch rows, you'll begin with 1 Chain (CH) for the row you begin next. You'll then make 1 Single Crochet (SC) in the first Stitch (ST). You'll then make 1 CH again, Skip (SK) over 1 ST, then make 1 SC in the next space. You would continue this pattern for the rest of the row. 1SC, CH1, SK 1 ST, 1SC.

To start this stitch, if you are at the beginning of a row with previous Moss Stitch rows you will make 1 chain, you'll then make 1 SC into the first space/ST made from a CH space in the previous row. You'll then make 1 CH, SK over the next SC from the previous row and work 1 SC into the next open space. You'll continue that pattern until the end of the row.
