Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Victorian Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet V Stitch (DC V), tutorial here! And how to make the Iris Stitch, tutorial here!
To start, make chains in the multiple of 3
*I made a row of all SC (tutorial here) for my 1st row
This stitch is made up of new rows alternating
But it's really just 1 row, with rearranging these 2 STS (Iris & DC V ST)
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Make 3 CHs
1 DC into 2nd ST
If you're making this into your 1st row, SK 2 STs, then make a DC V into next ST
If not make a DC V into previous Iris ST space
*If you're making this into your 1st row, SK 2 STs, then make a Iris into next ST
If not make a Iris into previous DC V ST space
If you're making this into your 1st row, SK 2 STs, then make a DC V into next ST
If not make a DC V into previous Iris ST space
Alternate between these 2 steps from * until you reach the end of your row
If you're making this into your 1st row, 1 DC into 2nd to last ST if row
If not, 1 DC into last ST of row
If not your 1st row, 1 DC into previous CHs from last row
You would repeat this row for any future rows,
but you will alternate your Iris STs and DC V STs
In any previous Iris STs you'll work DC V STs, in any previous DC V STs you'll work Iris STs
This is what the Victorian Stitch should look like when completed!
