Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the C2C Wattle Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Slip Stitch (SL ST), tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to make the Single Crochet Decrease (SC DEC), tutorial here!

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

We will start with the Increasing part:

To begin, make 4 CHs on your hook

Row 1: 1 SC into the 4th CH from your hook, the CH farthest away

Make 1 CH

1 DC into same CH as SC just made

Turn your work

Row 2: Make 3 CHs

Skip 1 ST, 1 SC in-between previous STs, in previous CH 1 space

Make 1 CH

Make 1 DC into same space as SC just made

Make 1 SC into space between last ST and previous CHs of last row

Make 1 CH

Make 1 DC into same space as SC just made

Turn your work

Row 3: Make 3 CHs

Skip 1 ST, into previous CH 1 space make 1 SC + CH 1 + 1 DC

Skip 1 ST, into previous CH 1 space make 1 SC + CH 1 + 1 DC

Skip 1 ST, into previous CH 1 space make 1 SC + CH 1

Then make 1 DC into the tops of the previous CHs on the last row

You would repeat row 3 for any new increase row

Starting Decreasing part:

Row 1: Make 4 CHs

Skip 1st ST, Skip previous CH 1 space, Skip 1 ST

Into 2nd previous CH 1 space work 1 SC + CH 1 + 1 DC

Work 1 SC + CH 1 + 1 DC into each previous CH 1 space across, until you reach the last space of your row

1 SC into top of previous CHs of last row

Turn your work

Row 2: Make 3 CHs

Skip 1st ST, Skip previous CH 1 space, Skip 1 ST

Into 2nd previous CH 1 space work 1 SC + CH 1 + 1 DC

Work 1 SC + CH 1 + 1 DC into each previous CH 1 space across, until you have 2 open spaces left at the end of your row

Make 1 SC DEC over the last 2 open spaces of your row

Repeat row 2 until you only have 1 open Wattle ST space in your last row

Turn your work

Row 3: Make 1 CH

Make 1 SC into last previous CH 1 open space of your row

SL ST into last open space between previous CHs of your last row

Row 4: Make 1 CH

SL ST into previous SC made in last row

This is what the C2C Wattle Stitch should look like when completed!
