Crocheting in the front loops is a great way to add texture to any project. You also might hear this technique as, 'crochet in the front loops only'.
You can use any basic crochet stitch for this technique too!
So to show off this technique I am making half double crochet stitches. So I have already yarned over my crochet hook and turned my work to show the tops of the stitches I will be working into.

The picture above is showing where you will be placing your hook, that is in the front loop of the stitch. This is working into the Front Loop from the front of your work. My hook is going from the front of my work to the back.
You could also work it this way...The picture above is showing where you will be placing your hook, that is in the front loop of the stitch. This is working into the Front Loop from the back of your work. My hook is going from the back of my work to the front.
I worked my stitches in the front and back of those front loops for my example swatch. This is what working in the Front loops should look like when completed!
