Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Sunburst Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! And how to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch, tutorial here!
To begin, make CHs in the multiple of 3 + 1
Row 1: 1 SC into 2nd CH from your hook, 1 SC into each CH across
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 2: Make 2 CH
1 HDC into 1st ST
SK 2 STs, 3 HDC into next ST
*SK 2 STs, 3 HDC into next ST
*Repeat the step above until you reach the last ST of your row
Make 2 HDC into the last ST of your row
Row 3: Make 1 CH
1 SC into 1st ST, 1 SC into 2nd ST
Make 3 CHs
Skip 2 STs, 1 SC into next ST
*Make 3 CHs
Skip 2 STs, 1 SC into next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the last ST of your row
1 SC into the last ST of your row
Row 4: CH 1
1 SC into 1st ST, 1 SC into 2nd ST
2 SC into 1st open space
1 SC into next ST (SC between previous open spaces)
*2 SC into next open space
1 SC into next ST (SC between previous open spaces)
Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the last 2 STs of your row
1 SC into next ST, 1 SC into last ST
Repeat rows 2-4 for however long you want your project
This is what the Sunburst Stitch should look like when completed!
