First, with any project you’ll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.
For this tutorial you’ll need to know how to make Chains (CH)! How to make the Slip Stitch (SL ST), tutorial here! And how to make the Half Double Crochet Stitch (HDC), tutorial here!
Starting at the beginning, make an even number of chains

Row 1: CH 1
(If you're working into chains, skip this step)
Make 1 SL ST into the 1st ST
(If you're working into CHs, make this SL ST into the 2nd CH from your hook)
Make 1 HDC into the next ST/CH
Make 1 SL ST into the next ST/CH
Make 1 HDC into the next ST/CH
*Make 1 SL ST into the next ST/CH
Make 1 HDC into the next ST/CH
Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the end of your row
This is what the Even Moss Stitch should look like when completed!
