Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Picot Trellis Stitch!
First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Slip Stitch (SL ST), tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to make a Picot Stitch (PI), 1st tutorial here and 2nd tutorial here!
To begin make chains in the multiple of 5 + 2
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook
Make 5 CHs
Skip 4 CHs, into that next CH make 1 SC
*Make 5 CHs
Skip 4 CHs, into that next CH make 1 SC
Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the end on your row
Here's what row 1 should look like
Row 2: Make 5 CHs
Skip 2 CHs, into that next CH make 1 SC + PI on top
Make 5 CHs
Skip over to the next open space, into the middle CH of that open space make 1 SC + PI on top
*Make 5 CHs
Skip over to the next open space, into the middle CH of that open space make 1 SC + PI on top
Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the last ST of your row
Make 1 DC into last ST of row
Row 3: Make 1 CH
1 SC into the opening right next to the CH you just made
Make 5 CHs
Skip over to the next open space, into the middle CH of that open space make 1 SC + PI on top
*Make 5 CHs
Skip over to the next open space, into the middle CH of that open space make 1 SC + PI on top
Repeat the steps above from * until you reach the last ST of your row
Make 1 SC into the middle CH of the 5 beginning CHs from your last row
Alternate between rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
