Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a I hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK
Double Crochet Stitch (DC):

Pattern:
Make chains in the multiple of 6 + 4, I made 154 chains for my example blanket
Row 1: 2 DC into the 7th CH from your hook, CH 1, 2 DC into same CH as 2 DC just made, *SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into next CH, SK 2 CHs, (2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into next CH, repeat from * until you have 3 CHs left, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into last CH
Row 2: CH 3, *(2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into previous CH 1 space, SK to next single DC, make 1 BPDC over single DC, SK to next previous CH 1 space, repeat from *, at the end of your row make 1 DC into the tops of the previous CHs
Row 3: CH 3, *(2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) into previous CH 1 space, SK to next single DC, make 1 FPDC over single DC, SK to next previous CH 1 space, repeat from *, at the end of your row make 1 DC into the tops of the previous Chs
Alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
