Pattern:

Pick your favorite way to start a circle or square, playlist above!

Row 1: Make circle, CH 3, 2 DC into center of circle, CH 2, *3 DC into circle, CH 2, Repeat from * 2 more times, SL ST into first DC stitch made in this row

You’ll have 4 sides of 3 DC and 4 corners of CH 2

Row 2: (Start at corner space) CH 3, 2 DC into the same space, CH 3, 3 DC into same corner space, *CH 1, SK to next corner space, (3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC) all into that next space, repeat from *, SL ST into the 1st CHs you made in this row

Row 3: (Start at corner space) CH 3, 2 DC into that space, CH 3, 2 DC into that same space, *CH 1, SK 3 STs, 1 DC into next open space, 1 DC SP into the DC below from row 2, 1 regular DC into same space, CH 1, SK 3 STs, (2 DC, CH 3 2 DC) into that next corner space, repeat from *, SL ST into the 1st CHs you made in this row

This will be the same pattern throughout. In each open space on any side you will make (1 DC, 1 DC SP, 1 DC) all into that space, CH 1 to skip to the next open space. In each corner space you will make 2 DC, CH 3, 2 DC.

These new 2 DC will act as a 3 DC block going forward

Repeat row 3 for how big you want your square

  • I made 5 rows for each square

  • I made a total of 49 squares (7x7)

  • I joined my squares using the Join As You Go Method:

  • Video tutorial here, step by step photo tutorial here!

  • You can use any join you want for your blanket, I have a playlist featuring more here!
