Here is the free pattern/tutorial:
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a ‘I’ hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK
Double Crochet Stitch (DC):

Pattern:
Make chains in the multiple of 7 + 3 I made 157 CHs for my example blanket
Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 3rd CH from your hook, 1 DC into next CH, 1 DC into next CH, *CH 2, SK 2 CHs, 1 DC into the next 5 CHs, repeat the steps above from * until you have 5 CHs left in this row, CH 2, SK 3 CHs, 1 DC into the next 3 CHs to complete this row
Row 2: CH 2, SK 1st ST, 1 BPDC over next ST, 1 DC into next ST, *CH 2, SK CH space, 1 DC into next ST, 1 BPDC over next ST, 1 DC into next ST, 1 BPDC over next ST, 1 DC into next ST, repeat the steps above from * until you reach the last 3 STs, 1 DC into next ST, 1 BPDC over next ST, 1 DC into top of last CHs to complete this row
Row 3: CH 2, SK 1st ST, 1 FPDC over next ST, 1 DC into next ST, *CH 2, SK CH space, 1 DC into next ST, 1 FPDC over next ST, 1 DC into next ST, 1 FPDC over next ST, 1 DC into next ST, repeat the steps above from * until you reach the last 3 STs, 1 DC into next ST, 1 FPDC over next ST, 1 DC into top of last CHs to complete this row
Alternate between Rows 2 & 3 for however long you want your blanket
