Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a new free pattern from me! My Tea Time Afghan is a twist on the original Block Stitch Granny Square blanket!
Very beginner friendly!
Looks gorgeous in any color(s)!
Fun and easy to make!
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn will work – I used Medium/DK weight for my example blanket
Crochet hook – Any hook will work – I used a I hook for my example blanket – 5.5 MM
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Notes:

To keep your square/blanket straight, flip your work every row
Crochet Stitches Needed:
Chain – CH
Stitch – ST
Skip – SK

Pattern:
Pick your favorite way to start a circle or square, playlist above!
Row 1: Make circle, CH 3, 2 DC into center of circle, CH 3, *3 DC into circle, CH 3, Repeat from * 2 more times, SL ST into first DC stitch made in this row
You’ll have 4 sides of 3 DC and 4 corners of CH 3
Row 2: (Start at any corner space) CH 5, 1 SC into same space, *CH 3, SK to next corner space, (1 SC, CH 4, 1 SC) into that space, repeat from * around, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row to complete
Row 3: (Start at any corner space) CH 5, 1 SC into same space, *CH 3, SK to next CH space, 1 SC into that space, repeat from * for any side. Corner spaces: (1 SC, CH 4, 1 SC) into each of those spaces, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row to complete
Row 4: (Start at any corner space) CH 3, 2 DC, CH 3, 3 DC all into that space, *SK to next CH space, 3 DC into that next space, repeat from * for any side. Corner spaces: (3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC) into each of those spaces, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row to complete
Row 5: (Start at any corner space) CH 5, 1 SC into same space, *CH 3, SK 3 STs, make 1 SC into space between STs, repeat from * for any side. Corner spaces: (1 SC, CH 4, 1 SC) into each of those spaces, SL ST into the 1st CHs made in this row to complete
Repeat Rows 2, 3, 4 & 5 in order for how big you want your blanket
