First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this blanket pattern
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to make the Double Crochet V Stitch (DC V), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 3. I made 150 chains for my example blanket
Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook
Make 1 CH, skip 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the next CH
*Make 3 CHs, skip 2 CHs
Make 1 SC into the next CH
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 2 CHs left
Make 1 CH, skip 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the last CH to complete this row
Row 2: Make 3 CHs, these CHs count as 1 DC
Skip 1st ST, skip 1st CH space,
make 1 DC V into the next ST/SC
*Skip the next CH space, make 1 DC V into the next ST/SC
Repeat the step above from * until you only have 1 ST left
Make 1 DC into that last ST to complete this row
Row 3: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the 1st ST
Make 1 CH, skip to the next previous DC V CH space
Make 1 SC into that DC V ST CH space
*Make 3 CHs, skip to the next previous DC V CH space
Make 1 SC into that DC V ST CH space
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have some CHs left
Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the top of those last CHs to complete this row
This is what my Honey Kiss Afghan should look like when completed!
