First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch
For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! How to make the Front Post Single Crochet Stitch (FPSC), tutorial here! And how to make the Back Post Single Crochet Stitch (BPSC), tutorial here!
Starting from the beginning, make an even number of chains
❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈
Row 1: Make 1 DC into the 4th CH from your hook
Then make 1 DC into each CH across
Row 2: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the 1st ST
*Make 1 BPSC around the next ST
Make 1 FPSC around the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST left
Make 1 SC into the last ST to complete this row
Row 3: Make 2 CHs
Make 1 DC into each ST across
Row 4: Make 1 CH
Make 1 SC into the 1st ST
Make 1 FPSC over the next ST
Make 1 BPSC over the next ST
Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 1 ST left
Make 1 SC into the last ST to complete this row
Row 5: Make 2 CHs
Then make 1 DC into each ST across
You would now repeat Rows 2, 3, 4 & 5 in order for however long you want your project
This is what the Arruga Stitch should look like when completed!
