Photo Tutorial – How To Crochet: Cross Double Groups Stitch!

Thanks for visiting my page! Here is a written tutorial with photos on how to make the Cross Double Groups Stitch!

First, with any project you'll need a crochet hook and yarn. Any yarn or hook will do for learning this stitch.

For this tutorial you'll need to know how to make Chains (CH), I have a tutorial here! How to make the Single Crochet Stitch (SC), tutorial here! How to make the Double Crochet Stitch (DC), tutorial here! And how to make the Triple Crochet Stitch (TR), tutorial here!

Starting from the beginning, make chains in the multiple of 4 + 1

❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈ ❈

 

Row 1: Make 1 SC into the 2nd CH from your hook

Then make 1 SC into each CH across to complete this row

Row 2: CH 1

Make 1 SC into each of the 1st 2 STs

*CH 2, skip 2 STs

 Make 1 SC into each of the next 2 STs

Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 2 STs left

Skip 1 ST, make 1 SC into the last ST to complete this row

Row 3: CH 2

*Skip 1 ST, make 3 DC into next CH space

Make 1 TR into the ST you skipped before the 3 DC

Repeat the steps above from * until you only have 2 STs left

Skip 1 ST, make 2 DC into the last ST to complete this row

 

You would now alternate between Row 2 & 3 for however long you want your project
